TUPELO – Tickets go on sale Tuesday for the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Competition in Tupelo.
The competition is part of the 15th annual Tupelo Elvis Festival, which will be June 6-9. Tickets for the Lyric events are sold separately from the Fairpark stage.
Prices are $155 for the package of Elvis events at the Lyric Theatre in downtown Tupelo. If attendees want to go to the gospel brunch, the ticket package is $175.
Tickets are only on sale at the Downtown Tupelo Main Street office at 108 S. Broadway St. Walk-in ticket sales start at 9 a.m. Tuesday. Phone sales start at 10 a.m.
Four hundred tickets are available for the Lyric event and tickets have sold out the past three years.
“Usually by mid-February,” said Craig Helmuth, program associate at the Downtown Tupelo Main Street Association, which produces the festival.
The ticket package guarantees the buyer of an assigned seat inside the Lyric at all of the Elvis events, including the tribute artist competition preliminaries, the final, a tribute artist concert and a panel discussion with previous winners.
Prices increased from last year’s $135 (all Elvis) and $150 (all Elvis plus gospel). Helmuth said the new price reflects an additional event on Saturday and food at the gospel event.
A VIP package upgrade is available for $75 and includes a festival poster, T-shirt, meet & greet event and invites to two Elvis parties.
Tickets for the individual events will go on sale in Feb. 5 if there are any seats left. Prices range from $15 to $50 per event.
Helmuth said tickets for the Fairpark events hopefully will go on sale in February.
